Press release:

“On October 10th, 2013, the Pine County Sheriff’s Office executed a Search Warrant at a farm on Pioneer Road in Pine County. The search warrant was in connection with a previous search warrant that was executed at a related property on September 12th, 2013 as a result of an investigation into allegations of animal neglect and abuse. This recent search warrant was developed through information gathered in the initial investigation regarding more properties operated by the original suspect that also contained animals under duress.

Upon executing the above warrant, Sheriff’s investigators, animal care professionals, veterinarians and Deputies with ATV’s searched the property and discovered 14 horses, 15 dogs and 3 cats that were in very poor health and in need of immediate care and removal. The partial remains of one horse was also located.

The animals are now in the care of rescue organizations and veterinarians for immediate treatment and assessment.

The owner of the animals is not being named at this time as this investigation is still on going

By Minnesota State Statute, the owner now has 10 days to file a request for judicial review of the seizure of the animals.”
