Red Freedom Fest Medallion Found!

Friday, June 28th, 2013 at 10:03 am

Despite Jesse’s best effort, the Red Medallion was found in just 29 minutes.

The medallion was at the first hole on the disc golf course at Voyageur Park. It was in a tree that was split and had partially fallen down. About five feet off of the ground and in a large hole on the top side of the tree, Chad Hopkins of Pine City found it.

Chad now has a chance to win $500 in the drawing on Saturday at 11am at the Pine County Fairgrounds. On Facebook, Chad’s wife Amanda said:

“It wasn’t too hard Jesse…we just had to think about each sentence you gave us!!!”

This fallen tree is about 50 feet away from where the family is standing in the bottom picture.

The medallion was dropped inside a hole, covered by other branches, on the top side of that fallen tree… about five feet off of the ground. You had to scale the tree to get this look inside!

Amazing job, Hopkins family!

What an awesome week of fun medallion hunting that was provided by the staff at Red Rock On-Air´╗┐ as part of the Freedom Fest events. Not only has the excitement been building all week, but they offered a fun, family friendly way to get to know this community. From all the facebook posts I’ve seen this week – a good portion of the medallion hunting was done by families – and I’ve heard stories of truly good sportsmanship among the seekers. Great job guys!!
