Pine County Sheriff Robin Cole made his weekly radio appearance on Thursday morning and discussed recent developments in Pine County. Here’s the replay of the Pine County Sheriff’s Report heard first on WCMP.
Sheriff Cole told us about the recent arrest of Mark Davis, a trolling motor theft that was also reported, and an emotionally disturbed person that required restraint. Cole also answered a listener question at the start of the show.

The Pine City community is losing a beloved member as band director Brad Mariska has announced he is leaving Pine City Public Schools to accept a Director of Bands position at Austin High School in Austin, Mn.

On Tuesday, U.S. Sen. Al Franken (D-Minn.) introduced legislation that would help get cheaper prescription drugs for seniors by allowing them to purchase their medications from certified Canadian pharmacies. Franking stated that the amendment would allow people to safely get the exact same prescription drugs from Canada at a much cheaper price and called the move “commonsense legislation.”
