Are You Kidding Me?! Braham Wins with Improbable Comeback

The Braham Bombers must have ice running through their veins, because they stepped up against improbable odds, to beat Sibley East 60-59 in overtime, Thursday at Williams Arena. Braham trailed 49-29 with under 6:00 to play, but a flurry of Braham triples catapulted them to a 25-5 run. During that time, Ben Thiry knocked down four triples after scoring just two points in the first 30-minutes.
In overtime, Tyler Vaughan gave Braham a lead with a three on their first possession. Both teams then exchanged buckets, and the Wolverines took a one-point lead when Marshall Bjorkland (33-points, 23-points) converted a three-point play.
Tyler Vaughan (29-points, 12-rebounds) then stepped up and knocked down the biggest free-throws of his career. Vaughan was fouled on a jumper and calmly hit the pair with 2.9 seconds to play to give Braham a 60-59 lead.
The Wolverines couldn’t get a shot off in the end, and Braham, in one of the most exciting wins in school history, advances to play Friday at the Target Center in the state semi-finals.
