BRAHAMpions: Bombers Win Back-to-Back Section Titles
The Braham Bombers are heading back to the state tournament. The Bombers beat Esko 58-55 in a thriller at the University of Minnesota Duluth.
The Bombers led by a point at halftime, 18-17, after a very physical first 18-minutes. The two teams exchanged runs in the second half, but over the last four minutes, Braham locked down defensively and hits clutch shots to keep their season alive.
Tim Malone on claiming his first section title as the Bomber’s head coach:
Becca Dahlman led Braham with 21-points, including 13 in the second half.
Liz Anderson, Kelsey Sorenson-Giffrow, and Hannah Dahlman nailed huge three’s down the stretch. Dahlman’s three with under two-minutes to play gave the Bombers a 54-51 lead that they would never give back.
Becca and Hannah Dahlman spoke to Red Rock Radio about the win after the game:
Sorenson-Giffrow knocked down two of her team-high three triple’s in the second half and finished the game with 15-points. She believes this year’s team is more prepared for a deep run at the state tournament than the team that made it to the Target Center a year ago.
Braham will play Wednesday at Williams Arena in Minneapolis at 6 p.m. Hear the game on WCMP-FM.
