The basketball season came to and end for the Grantsburg Pirates on Tuesday.  Grantsburg was knocked out in the first round in a game heard on classic hits 105.7 WXCX by St. Croix Falls.  The Saints roll 54-45 and advance to play St. Croix Central.

However, there were several local teams that made it to the second round including three seed Webster who used stifling defense to shut down Clear Lake 48-24.  The Tigers will play Prescott at home on Thursday.  Prescott, who is the seven seed, pulled off one of the biggest upsets of the night beating two seed Glenwood City 74-70 in overtime.

The Siren Dragons are moving on after a 62-39 win over Northwood.  The Dragons now get the top seed South Shore who put up triple figures in their first round win.

Frederic sneaks by Bruce 63-62.  The Vikings now travel to Clayton.

Tonight the ladies start the playoffs in Minnesota.  Pine City hosts Rush City.  Hear the game on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM at 7.  Also, Braham is at home against Hinckley-Finlayson, Mora hosts Moose Lake-Willow River, and North Branch goes to Chisago Lakes Area.

Tuesday, Ogilvie advanced to round two by beating Onamia 53-45.

The Braham Bombers boys team is looking more and more like the teams that won three straight state titles last decade.  They win their 14th game in a row downing Ogilvie 77-33 to claim the Great River Conference Title.  The Bombers finish their regular season at home against Mora on Friday in a game you can hear on WCMP-FM.  The Mustangs will be looking to bounce back from their Tuesday night 72-44 loss to Albany.
