The Cambridge-Isanti/Mora/Pine City girls hockey co-op opened their season Tuesday in exciting fashion.  The Bluejackets kicked off the year with a 3-2 win in overtime against Chisago Lakes Area.

Coach Jeff McCann said, “To go on the road and open our season against a very solid Chisago Lakes team was a big test for our team.  It shows a lot about what type of kids we have on our team this year to have the fight they had right down to the end and come away with this win on the road.”

Alex Nelson got the game started with an unassisted goal in the first period.  Chisago Lakes tied the game in the second, and then each team netted a goal in the third.  In the extra period, Taylor Bowker found Katie Bender for the game winner.

The Bluejackets are back on the ice Thursday at home against Forest Lake.  Puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
