Vikings Win Thriller, Packers Clobber Lions

Picture 1747The Vikings are 6-0 by just inches, but undefeated nonetheless.  Baltimore’s Steven Hauschka missed a 43 yard field goal as time expired and the Vikings hold on to a 33-31 win.  Brett Favre threw for 273 yards and three touchdown passes, including two to tight end Visanthe Shiancoe.

Favre’s main target Sunday was Sidney Rice.  Rice has a career day with six catches and 176 yards.

Ryan Longwell stepped up big with four field goals. He talks about the job of the Vikings kicking unit and what he said to Ravens kicker Steven Hauschka after the missed field goal.

Adrian Peterson didn’t find the end zone, but had a big game on the ground running for 143 yards.  Peterson now has 18 games of over 100 yards in his career, which is second most in team history behind Robert Smith.  Peterson talked to Red Rock Radio about what the record means to him.

Minnesota goes to the defending champion Pittsburgh Steelers next week.

The Green Bay Packers have no problems taking care of business at home against the Lions.  Green Bay posts a 26-0 shutout, led by another big day from Aaron Rodgers who  throws for 358 yards and two touchdowns.
