Weekend Sports Recap

The Pine City Dragons won their fifth straight on the gridiron Friday at Aitkin, 22-8.   With the win the Dragons set up a huge showdown Wednesday at Crosby-Ironton.  The Rangers, who beat Braham 31-6,  come into the game undefeated, and Pine City remains undefeated in the conference.  The winner puts themselves in position to win the conference title.

Cambridge-Isanti wins a tight game for the second straight week.  The Bluejackets sneak past Becker 20-19 and have now won two in a row.  Cambridge-Isanti is 5-1 with two games to play and sit atop the Mississippi Eight.  They go on the road to play Buffalo who is also 5-1.

The Mora Mustangs continue their winning ways with a second consecutive win at St. Cloud State.  Mora upends St. Cloud Cathedral 39-6 for their third win in as many weeks and they are now 4-2 after a 1-2 start.  Mora wraps ups their regular season with two home games, starting Wednesday against Milaca. The Pine City Dragons go 1-2 in the Braham Invitational Volleyball Tournament.  Pine City beats Braham 2-1 then fall in straight sets to both Faribault and Zimmerman.  The Dragons are still perfect in conference play but have a huge match-up at Ogilvie (10-5) on Tuesday.
