Dragons and Pirates Stay Undefeated

It was a busy night on the volleyball courts, Tuesday.  In Hinckley, the Pine City Dragons go on the road and drop the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars in straight sets, 3-0.   The Dragons are undefeated so far, a start Head Coach Anna Potvin credits to her veteran leadership.

Pine City Leaders:

Holly Staples – 6 kills, 3 aces, 6 digs
Paige Pogones – 13 assists, 1 kill, 5 digs
Laura Linzmeier – 8 kills, 4 digs, 1 block
Kim Shuey – 4 kills, 3 aces, 5 digs, 4 blocks
Gretchen Linzmeier – 11 asssits, 1 kill, 2 aces, 3 digs, 1 block
Emily Camp – 6 kills, 2 aces, 9 blocks

The Dragons will try to stay unblemished when they take on Rush City at home on Thursday.  The Tigers were also winners on Tuesday.  They down Braham 3-2.

Another team that has started the year perfect is the Grantsburg Pirates.  They drop Cumberland in straight sets.

Head Coach Bill Morrin talks about a possible return to the state championship game.

The Pirates will play their first road game of the year, Thursday, against Shell Lake.
