Loading ...Dragons Volleyball Season Opens with Straight Set Win
The Pine City Dragons volleyball team kick off their season with a straight set win over Zimmerman, 3-0.
Set 1: 25-20
Set 2: 25-15
Set 3: 26-24
Emily Camp and Kim Shuey were two of the stars for the Dragons. Camp posts 10 kills and 2 aces, while Shuey chipped in 10 aces and 6 kills. The win was, however, a complete team effort.
Laura Linzmeier – 7 kills, 1 assist
Paige Pogones – 12 assists, 5 aces, 1 kill
Gretchen Linzmeier – 10 assists
Holly Staples – 4 kills, 3 aces
Pine City did fall behind 2-7 in the first set, but were able to regroup for the win. Head Coach Anna Potvin said, “Considering it was our opening match, I am very proud of the way the girls held it together and recovered from their slow start.”
