Rush City Beats Pine City, Then Fall to Thunder

An exciting night of high school softball playoffs on Red Rock Radio, Thursday.  Rush City used a Shelbi Logue three run homer in the first inning and eight runs in the fourth to end Pine City’s season in a 14-6 win.

With the win, the Tigers advanced to play Zimmerman in game two. The Thunder fell to Becker 1-0 earlier in the day.  Zimmerman wasted no time putting up big runs.  They blast a grand slam, part of an eight-run second inning.  This was the catalyst in their 9-2 win.  The loss ends Rush City’s Season with a mark of 11-8.

In Wisconsin, Frederic’s girls moving on.  They beat Auburn 11-1 and earn a game Tuesday against the number two seeded Shell Lake at Shell Lake at 5 p.m.  Luck also a winner.  They beat Clear Lake 4-1 and will play the top seed Birchwood, Tuesday.  Also Tuesday, Grantsburg will play Cumberland, who beat St. Croix Falls 8-3.
