Pirates Upset, Losses for Dragons and Tigers
High School Softball season winding down, but the intensity is heating up, including a major upset on the diamond in Northwest Wisconsin. In a game heard on Classic Hits 105.7 WXCX, the Grantsburg Pirates fall 2-0 to St. Croix Falls. Its the first loss on the year for Grantsburg, who entered Tuesday’s game a perfect 20-0.
Tuesday, Pine City falls16-0 loss to Becker in the Class 2A Section Six second round. Dragons are now 12-10. With the win, Becker moves on the play Zimmerman who beat Rush City 6-0. Ogilvie moving on to play in St. Cloud. They beat Hinckley-Finlayson 15-7 in the Class 1A section five. Tonight North Branch takes on Grand Rapids and Cambridge-Isanti hosts Andover in the Class 3A Section Seven first round.
It looked like Tuesday was going to be a tough day for the Grantsburg Pirates overall. But the Grantsburg baseball team uses a five run seventh inning to beat Rush City 6-5. The Pirates trailed most of the game, only to make the final push in the final frame, and pick up their sixth win in a row.
