The Minnesota Gophers are going dancing.  Tubby Smith and his team are headed east to take on Texas in the East regional game, Thursday, in Greensboro, North Carolina. The Gophers are the ten seed in the region, and were one of a handful of bubble teams who celebrated an at-large bid.  This is the first time Minnesota has been in the NCAA tournament since 2005.  Pittsburgh is the top seed in the East. The other number ones are Louisville, North Carolina, and Connecticut.

The thrill of march madness is not just at the college level, but the high school ranks as well.  The Braham Lady Bombers are moving on to the state tournament.  The Bombers win a thriller in Duluth, Friday,  68-63 over Aitkin in overtime. The bombers now move on to play Caledonia, Wednesday, at the Target Center.  Hear the game live on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM.  The Warriors are a perfect 28-0.

On the boys side, a pair of teams are making their own run at a state tourney appearance. Both Braham and Mora move on with wins this weekend.  Up next, Braham get the two seed Mesabi East at the University of Minnesota Duluth, Tuesday, at 6 p.m. and Mora will take on Virginia immediately following the first game.  Hear the double-header on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM.
