Dragons Start State Tournament, Mora Tops P.C, Braham/R.C Move On

Siren Dragons Girls Basketball Head coach Ryan Karsten says todays state tournament game in Madison is the biggest thing in the Siren community since the tornado hit in 2001.  The Dragons take on St. Mary’s Central Friday morning with a chance to advance to the state finals on the line.  Hear all the action on Classic Hits 105.7 WXCX.

Also Friday, the Braham Bombers girls’ hoops team looks to punch their ticket to the state tournament in Minnesota.  The Bombers will play the Aitkin Gobblers at the University of Minnesota Duluth.  Braham is 0-2 against Aitkin this year, including a three point loss in overtime.  The Bombers will try to get the game that matters.  Hear the action on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-Fm starting at 7 p.m.

Thursday, The North Branch Lady Vikings’ season comes to an end with a 60-26 loss to Totino Grace.  The Vikings finish the year 16-13.

The Mora Mustangs advance in the first round of the boys postseason.  They get the best of Pine City 64-47.  Andrew Good let the Mustangs with 18.  Up next, Mora will play the two seed Moose Lake-Willow River at Duluth Denfeld High School Saturday.  Braham also moves on to the next round dropping Aitkin 90-41.  They will play Rush City, who sneaks by Esko 64-62.

North Branch falls to Spring Lake Park in the first round.  Cambridge-Isanti is in action Firday on the road at St. Francis.  The Lady Bluejackets playing in the section finals, Saturday, against Blaine.  Hear the game from Irondale on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM at 7 p.m.
