Bombers Move On to Section Finals, Boys Bball Playoffs Start

The Braham Lady Bombers’ basketball team is moving on.  Braham dominates Deer River, Wednesday, 60-37 at University of Minnesota Duluth in the third round of the section playoffs.  Braham advances to take on Aitkin, Friday at 7 p.m..  The Bombers lost to the Gobblers twice this year by a total of four points.  Hear Braham go for revenge on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM.

Thursday, the Minnesota Boys  Basketball Playoff season gets underway at its a jam packed schedule.  Starting with the game on 100.9 WCMP-FM.  Pine City will travel to Mora.  The Dragons also have payback on their minds.  They lost by 24 to the Mustangs on January 20th.  Both teams limp into the postseason. Pine City has lost two straight and mora has lost three of five.  Tip off is at 7.

Also in section 7AA…

Top seed Braham takes on Aitkin at home.  Rush City is the four seed, and earned a home contest.  The Tigers take on Esko and Hinckley-Finlayson travels north to Moose Lake-Willow River for a showdown with the Rebels.  All games tip-off at 7 p.m.

East Central on the hardwood, Thursday, in Section 5A.  They are taking on the two seed Cromwell at Cromwell.  Game starts at 7:30 p.m.

Twins baseball starts Thursday on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP. Twins take on the Pirate with first pitch at noon.  Bad news unveiled Wednesday, all-star catcher Joe Mauer has an inflammation in his back and doctors says it is questionable if the 25-year-old will be ready for opening day.
