Tuesday Preps: Dragons Hockey Advance, Tigers Hoops Lose
Pine City-Rush City and North Branch hockey teams met on the ice Tuesday for the third time this season, each team winning once so far. Tuesday’s game proved the most significant most because it meant a chance to move on in the playoffs. In the end, the Dragons were standing tall. Pine City-Rush City wins 4-2. They move on to play the top overall seed in the section St. Cloud Cathedral Thursday at 7 p.m. in St. Cloud.
Playoffs in Wisconsin girls hoops kicked off, Tuesday, but were not kind to local teams. Fourth seed Webster falls 57-34 to the number five seed St. Croix Central on a game heard on classic hits 105.7 WXCX. The Tigers season comes to an end, as does the season for the Grantsburg Pirates. They fall to the sections top seed Prescott 62-34.

The Wild see their two game win streak come to an end with a 2-1 loss to the Kings in a shootout. Jonathon Quick stopped a Brent Burns shot to end the game. The Wild are tied with three other teams in the Western Conference with 65 points and currently sit seventh in the Western Conference playoff race. However, their next six games are on the road starting Friday in Calgary.
The Timberwolves were in Canada, Tuesday, but were not welcomed warmly. The Raptors hand Kevin McHale’s club their third straight loss, 118-110. Chris Bosh poured in 26 for Toronto.
