Pine City-Rush City hockey traveled across state lines for their first game of the new year. Unfortunately for the Dragons, they ran in to a determined Blizzard club, who takes care of business on their home ice in the 3-2 win. Up next for the Blizzard, McDonald at home on Tuesday. The Dragons travel to Two Harbors, Saturday.
In a game heard on cool country 100.9 WCMP-FM, the Pine City Dragons girls basketball team loses 62-47 to East Central. Brook Paige led the way for the Eagles with 17, Karina Nordrum poured in 18 for Pine City in the losing effort. East Central improves to 5-3 with the win. Pine City falls to 3-7.
Friday, another good match-up in girls hoops on 100.9 WCMP-FM. Rush City hosts Braham. Both teams are hungry after losing on Tuesday. Rush City is in search of their second win this year. Braham tries to get back on track, they are 6-2. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
