Mora Vball Advances, Pine City and Rush City Done
The Mora Mustangs Volleyball team continues to impress. Thursday, in the first round of the playoffs, Mora dropped Rockford 3-0 and move on to play Tuesday. They will face Becker who topped Rush City 3-2. Pine City falls 3-0 to Foley.
The High School Football regular season officially came to an end in Wisconsin last night. In a game heard on 105.7 WXCX, Webster drops St. Croix Falls 7-3. Webster now looks ahead to the post-season.
Teams already in the playoffs in Minnesota area gearing up for round two this weekend. You can hear three games on the Red Rock Radio. Starting with Hinckley-Finlayson at Deer River on 1350 WCMP-AM at 2pm on Saturday. At 6 pm, on Saturday, tune in to 100.9 WCMP-FM, Mora takes on the top seed in the bracket, Holy Family Catholic. The Mustangs will look to play spoiler as they try to advance to St. Cloud State next weekend. If Mora can pull the upset, and Pine City wins Saturday, the two will meet on Friday. However, Pine City has their eye on Zimmerman. That game can be heard at 5pm on 1350 WCMP-AM on Saturday.
Also in playoff action this weekend, the Grantsburg Pirates undefeated Volleyball team. They take on Webster tonight at home. Catch the game on 105.7 WXCX starting at seven
The Minnesota Timberwolves out battle the Bucks at Target Center, 95-76. Al Jefferson scored 19 for the T-wolves and Rashad McCants chipped in 15 off the bench. Minnesota is now 6-2 this pre-season.
The Wild not so lucky, Thursday, they lose their first game of the year, despite a 3-1 lead in the third period. The Buffalo Sabres scored two late goals and Derek Roy netted the overtime winner for the Sabres who improve to 6-0-1. Minnesota is back on the ice against Columbus, Saturday.
