The Volleyball Playoffs are underway in Minnesota. On Wednesday, several area teams kicked off post-season play. Hinckley-Finlayson starts with a 3-1 win on the road, upsetting Moose-Lake Willow River. The Jaguars move on to face the top seed Esko at Hermantown on Friday. In an 8-9 match-up, Cambridge-Isanti tops North Branch 3- 0. The eight seed Bluejackets advance to play the one seed Grand Rapids, Friday at 7 p.m.

Tonight, Pine City travels to Foley for their first round match-up. The Dragons come in as the seven seed and will look to pull off the early round upset. Mora and Rush City will also play tonight is the class double A section five tourney. The Mustangs are the top overall seed and face Rockford in Mora. Rush City also draws a home game. They are the four seed and will host Becker at 7 p.m. If both the Tigers and Mustangs win, they will meet Tuesday.

Other games around the area include Ogilvie hosting Eden Valley Watkins. The Grantsburg Pirates will try to stay unblemished when they take on Webster in the Regional, Friday.

Pine City football is getting ready for their second round showdown with Zimmerman, Saturday. Gametime has been moved to 5 p.m. because of ACT testing. The game will be played at Pine City.

The Minnesota Timberwolves, lose just their second game of the pre-season. The Bulls come into town and pick up the 85-75 at the Target Center. Two of this years top five draft picks were on display. Derick Rose, the top overall pick, scored 17 in the win for Chicago. Kevin Love, scored just for points on 1 of 10 shooting.
