The Pine City Dragons are the conference champs for the second straight season. The Dragons top the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars 26-13 on the road. Pine City trailed at the half, but scored 19 straight to take control. Haakon Hansen scored three time and ran for over 200 yards in the win. Wes Fischer hooked up with Justin Carlson for a 48 yard touchdown in the first half. Chris Bostrom scored two touchdowns for the Jags, but Pine City’s defense forced three interceptions, all as the Jaguars were driving in Pine City territory.

The Dragons now get ready for the first round of the playoffs which will be played Tuesday in Pine City. You can hear the game on 1350 WCMP-AM.

Also last night, Cambridge gives Rogers only their second loss on the year, going for a two point conversion in overtime to seal the 22-21 win. Mora tops Melrose on the road, 38-21, Rush City snips Braham 28-20, East Central all over Ely 55-13, and Cook County downs Ogilvie 61-0.

The Minnesota Wild Offense has been explosive in the first two games of the season. The squad put up four in their opener against Boston, and another four Tuesday against Atlanta. Tonight, they will look to keep the goals coming when they take on the Panther in Florida. Some bad news for Minnesota, they place Marek Zidlicky on injured reserve. Puck drops tonight at 6:30 p.m.

T-wolves also in action tonight. They head to Canada to take on the Raptors in pre-season play. Minnesota is 3-1 so far in the pre-season, and look to stay hot tonight. The Raptors are also 3-1 and are coming off a win Tuesday against a team from Moscow.

One half of the World Series is set. The Philadelphia Phillies will represent the National League after beating the Dodgers 5-1 in L.A. last night to get the 4-1 win in the best of seven. They now await the winner of Tampa Bay and Boston. The Rays and Red Sox tango tonight in Beantown. Rays hold a 3-1 series lead.
