[Audio] TWINS IN FIRST PLACE!
What a day in sports. Thursday saw the drama sometimes not seen during an entire season, let alone a single night.
At the Metrodome, the Twins and White Sox battled for first place in the AL Central, which will be the final play spot. Minnesota trailed by two in the eighth, but a Carlos Gomez single and Denard Span triple tied the game at six and forced extra innings. In the tenth, with Nick Punto at third, it was Alexi Casilla drilled a single to end the game.
The Twins win 7-3 and are now a half game ahead of the White Sox with three games to go. All three are at home against the Royals. You can hear Saturday’s game on Cool Country 100.9 WCMP FM starting at 5:35 p.m.
