FOOTBALL FRIDAY, Twins Dethroned by Royals, Brewers Stumble

It’s a football friday on Red Rock Radio. Three games can be heard on family of networks tonight.

On 1350 WCMP-AM you can hear the Pine City Dragons take on the Rush City Tigers. It is Dad’s night in Pine City. Fathers, Uncles, grandfathers, and male role models will line the Dragons sidelines.

On Cool Country 100.9 WCMP-FM, it’s a great local battle between Hinckley-Finlayson and Braham. On Classic Hits 105.7 WXCX, Frederic travels to Siren for a Northwest Wisconsin showdown. All three games kickoff at seven.

The Twins battle, Francisco Liriano was again stellar on the hill, but in the end, Minnesota loses a heartbreaker to the Royal 3-2 at the Metrodome. The two teams played to a 2-2 through nine, but in the tenth, Kansas City’s David Dejesus knocked a single to right scoring Mark Teahen for the go-ahead run. The Twins do remain just a game back of the White Sox who also lost Thursday. Twins are now on the road for ten straight starting tonight in Baltimore. The Brewers also fall Thursday, 6-3, to the Phillies on the road. It was the first of a pivotal for game set between the two teams fighting for the Wild Card spot. Milwaukee owns a three game lead over Philadelphia, game two is Friday at 6:05 p.m.

The Minnesota Gophers back on the home gridiron this week. They host Montana state Saturday. Kickoff is at 11a.m.
