The Minnesota Senate voted in favor of the new Vikings stadium by a 38-28 count just before midnight. The vote came after debating for 11 hours on Tuesday. A similar measure passed the Minesota House on Monday.

Fans of the Minnesota Vikings got a big boost last night as the Minnesota House approved the stadium measure 73-58. The vote came just before midnight and now the bill moves on to the Senate for another round of vigorous debate today.

Minnesota Twins designated hitter Justin Morneau is headed to the 15-day disabled list on Monday because of a sore left wrist.

In the first round of the NFL draft, the Green Bay Packers made a pick to try and improve their defense. The Packers selected USC’s Nick Perry with the 28th overall pick Thursday night.
