Twins Appear To Have Roster Set For Opening Day
The Minnesota Twins appear to have their roster set for the start of the season.
The Twins reassigned RHP Rich Harden and LHP Rafael Perez to minor league camp. Both pitchers are coming back from shoulder surgery and still aren’t ready for game action. Harden is obviously a longshot to get and stay healthy and productive this season.
Twins placed RHP Tim Wood on the 15-day disabled list with a right rotator cuff strain. It’s not clear at this point how long he’ll be out. Wood posted a 4.91 ERA with 10 strikeouts over 11 innings this spring.
Barring a last-minute waiver move or trade, the Twins’ 25-man roster appears to be set. The Twins have named Vance Worley their Opening Day starter after the righthander went five innings on Wednesday against Pittsburgh giving up two earned runs. The season begins on Monday afternoon at Target Field when Minnesota hosts Detroit, and the game will be broadcast on 100.9 Cool Country.
