We are excited to be bringing you two doubleheaders in the high school ranks tonight on the Red Rock Radio stations. First off, it’s the Pine City Dragons hosting the Braham Bombers in boys baseball this afternoon for a doubleheader at 4pm on 1350AM. Pine City hasn’t played a game in over a week and enters with a 2-4 record. Braham is winless on the season at 0-3. The games will have a real sense of importance tonight with the regular season having less than a month remaining.
Then, in another doubleheader we will have girls softball this afternoon on SAM1057. The Grantsburg Pirates will host the Cameron Comets for two games, with the first one starting at 4pm. Join our Josh Miggler on the call there from Grantsburg.
Pregame info: This afternoon we have a pair of high school baseball games for you on the Red Rock Radio sports network. First off, at 4:30pm the home opening game of the Pine City Dragons 2014 spring season will air on 1350AM WCMP. The Dragons are set to host the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars. Both teams enter with 0-2 records. The Jaguars swept Pine City in two one-run victories last season and have a six game win streak dating back to May of 2010 against Pine City. It’s Pine City vs Hinckley-Finlayson in boys baseball at 4:30pm on 1350AM with Jesse Logan.
[FINAL SCORE: Pine City 6 – 4 Hinckley/Finlayson]
The other game this afternoon is on SAM1057 at 4pm when the Grantsburg Pirates travel to Luck to face the Frederic/Luck Co-op. We had Grantsburg’s boys on SAM last night and watched as they defeated the Siren/Webster Co-op 7-3. Grantsburg has traditionally had a very strong program, and will look to run their record to 2-0 on the season after the win last night. Again, it’s Grantsburg at Frederic/Luck in boys baseball this afternoon at 4pm with Josh Miggler on SAM1057.
[FINAL SCORE: Grantsburg 6 – 5 Luck]
Pregame info: It’s finally here! Our first spring sports broadcast of the season is on SAM1057 this afternoon. Pre Game Info: We’ve got another High School sports broadcast tonight when Siren travels to Hayward to face the South Shore Cardinals in a Section Semifinal. South Shore is currently working on an undefeated season at 25-0, and won their Regional Final in dominant fashion outscoring Mellen 73-28 in a runaway victory. It was actually par for the course for this season, as on the year the South Shore Cardinals have outscored their opponents 1584-551, by more than 1000 points. South Shore is led by 6’3″ junior Megan Gustafason, who comes in averaging 29.8 ppg and 18.7 rpg. Siren will have to play a nearly perfect game to advance. Josh Miggler will call the action at 7pm on SAM1057.
Pregame info: Our high school postseason coverage continues with a girls Section semifinal tonight from St. Michael/Albertville High School. The Braham Bombers are just two wins away from making State for the sixth straight year, and will try to take the next step against an Annandale team that has lost in the Section semis two years in a row. The Cardinals are an interesting team as they are just 15-11 on the season, but they are ranked higher than the Bombers who come in at 24-4. The game will tip off at 8pm on 100.9FM with our Jesse Logan on the call and the winner will play Friday night at St. Cloud State for a Section 5 Class AA Championship.

Pre Game Info: Our high school sports coverage resumes tonight in Siren for a highly anticipated matchup. The Dragons and Luck Cardinals played two thrilling one-point games in the regular season, both won by Siren, which is how they earned Tuesday night’s bye. The Cardinals qualified for this game with an opening round win over Northwood. This is the fourth year in a row these teams have met three times, with that third meeting in the playoffs. Luck has eliminated Siren each of the past two years. Jesse Logan will call the Regional Semifinal tonight in Division 5 when Luck travels to Siren! The game will tip at 7pm.
