Boys HS Playoffs: Siren Defeats Frederic 47-31 (Replay)

Friday, February 28th, 2014

Pregame info: The Division 5 boys basketball playoffs resume tonight in Wisconsin, and we will carry the Frederic Vikings @ Siren Dragons game, which tips at 7pm. Josh Miggler will call the action in this, the third meeting of the two teams this season. It’s a #2-#3 matchup in the Regional Semifinal. The winner will most likely take on Luck tomorrow night. Siren is 16-6 while the Frederic Vikings are 14-9. The two teams split in the regular season, each winning on it’s own home court. That may give the Dragons a slight edge in this one, but it should be a fun battle.

Boys HS Playoffs: Mora Defeats Milaca 59-56 in OT (Replay)

Thursday, February 27th, 2014

Pre Game Info: The Mora Mustangs finished the regular season winning four of their final five games. Tonight, they have to face the one team that beat them in that stretch, the Milaca Wovles, in the opening round of the playoffs. It’s Class AA Section 5 boys basketball tonight on FM 100.9, Mora at Milaca. The Mustangs had an up and down season, but that late win streak had them finish with a winning record at 13-12. The Wolves, however, lost their final three regular season games and are looking to turn this around in the playoffs. Milaca took both regular season meetings, but had lost four straight to Mora previously. The teams know each other well as both are in the Granite Ridge Conference.

Pregame info: On SAM1057 tonight, Josh Miggler takes the call for boys basketball in Division 4. The Grantsburg Pirates will host Ladysmith in a #3 vs #6 matchup. Grantsburg is looking to erase the memory of a one-and-done home loss in the postseason last year. The Pirates have struggled at times this season and are only 4-17, but have some solid young talent that they are building with for the future, and a great senior leader in Jacob Ohnstad. The game tips at 7pm and will also be streamed on the website.
