East Central Girls Beat Jaguars, Prepare For Barnum

Wednesday, December 15th, 2010 at 2:47 pm

The Lady Eagles of East Central have had a very hard schedule through their first five games, but they are feeling good about being 3-2 at this point. The Eagles were big winners over the Jaguars of Hinckley-Finlayson on Tuesday (Dec. 14) night, with a 76-29 victory. The 47-point margin was the largest of the season for the Eagles.

East Central was led by Senior Audra McAllister, who posted an impressive 24 points and played well in the post. The team had harassing defense all night against an overmatched Jaguars unit that was without one of it’s primary ball handlers, Kim Scullard, who injured her knee last week and is out until at least mid-January.

The Eagles’ only losses have come against two undefeated teams: Braham and Isle, who are both 6-0.

Coach Brett Paige visited with our Jesse Logan right after the win, and talked about the game as well as the challenge ahead. The Lady Eagles face the #1 ranked (Class 1A) Barnum Bombers on Monday night.
