Join us this afternoon for the first playoff game of our spring playoff schedule. It’s the Rush City Tigers at the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars at 4:30pm on 1350 AM WCMP.
This is the third meeting of the two teams this season, and Hinckley-Finlayson has won both of the previous meetings.
This afternoon on 1350 AM, WCMP, the Esko Eskomos will take on the Pine City Dragons in baseball.
The Eskomos are 8-7 this season. They lost their last game, 18-13, against Deer River on Friday. Last year these same two teams squared off against each other and Pine City won 6-4.
The Dragons are 6-11 this year. They have a 4-3 record at Pine City. Today’s game is the second to last home game of the regular season for the Dragons.
First pitch of today’s game is at 4:30pm and it can be heard on 1350AM, WCMP. The game will also be streaming live right here! Jesse Logan and Nick Sontag will be on the call.
The WIAA just announced the pairings for postseason play in both baseball and softball. The tournaments get under way next week, and we plan to cover them extensively on SAM1057. Another high school broadcast is on our schedule for this afternoon and it pitts two Great River Conference rivals against one another in fast pitch softball.
The Pine City Dragons are hosting the Braham Bombers in the second meeting of the year between these two teams. Pine City won the first meeting 14-9 and will look to keep their red hot bats going.

The Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars are having a very impressive softball season this year and currently boast a 10-4 record. Lead by coach Brett Bartkey, the Girls are atop the Great River Conference, but will have their hands full with one of the other very talented teams in the conference this afternoon in the Rush City Tigers. Rush comes in with an 8-3 record, but one of those three Tigers losses came against the Jags by a single run back in April. We will broadcast the game this afternoon at 4pm on 1350AM WCMP.
