Road Resurfacing Begins On Highways 65, 23 Near Mora

Tuesday, August 5th, 2014 at 9:43 am

Motorists will encounter daytime delays on Highway 23 between Ogilvie and Mora as the road is reduced to a single lane beginning Friday, Aug. 8.

The lane closures will occur Mondays through Saturdays from sunrise to sunset through Sept. 15.

Flaggers and a pilot car will allow one-way, alternating traffic through the daily work zone. Motorists approaching the work zone must obey the flagger, be prepared to stop and follow the pilot car through the work zone.

The closures are needed as crews resurface Highway 23 between the Groundhouse River east of Olgilvie and Highway 65 in Mora, add or extend turn lanes and improve drainage infrastructure.

Lane closures and resurfacing on Highway 65 south of Mora between the Ann River and County Road 11 began Monday, Aug. 4, and will continue through Aug. 29.

When complete, the projects will provide a smoother ride, improve safety and preserve an efficient and effective transportation system for local and interregional travelers.
