The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development released numbers on Thursday pertaining to state unemployment. It shows the statistic is at it’s lowest since 2008.

The DEED figure for the month of May reports that 10,300 jobs were gained throughout the state, which helped push the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate to a new, seven-year low (4.5 %).

The monthly gain has contributed to a 45,617 year-wide job total. The state’s unemployment rate is also slightly lower than what was found in April, 4.7%.

Minnesota is comparably well-off as the national unemployment rate is 6.3%.
