Wild Remain Unbeaten At Home After Tuesday Shutout Win. Chicago Leads Series 2-1
Ilya Bryzgalov and the Minnesota Wild surprised hockey nation on Tuesday after a 4-0 shutout win against the Chicago Blackhawks at Xcel Energy Center.
The win helped fuel the Wild’s undefeated home-playoff record, which currently stands at 4-0. The game remained scoreless into the 3rd period until Erik Haula beat Chicago goalie Corey Crawford for the 1-0 lead.
After two rough performances from Ilya Bryzgalov in the 2nd round, the recently-signed backup goalie proved to be invincible at home, stopping all 19 shots he faced on net.
The Wild pushed the lead to two after Mikael Granlund scored his third playoff goal of the year. The remaining two goals were netted by Zach Parise and Mikael Granlund once more, who scored his fourth playoff goal on an open-net late in the game.
The Wild host Chicago for Game 4 this Friday night at Xcel Energy Center. Chicago lead the series at 2-1.
