Jared Spurgeon and Charlie Coyle each scored goals for the Wild as they beat Colorado 2-1 Thursday night at Xcel Energy Center.

The Wild allowed a franchise record low 12 shots on goal as they even the series at 2-2 heading into Game 5 on Saturday night in Denver.

The Wild got off to a great start in Game 4 when defenseman Jared Spurgeon scored off a pass from Zach Parise to give the Wild a 1-0 lead under 4 minutes into the first period. It was Spurgeon’s first career playoff goal and the Wild took a 1-0 into the first intermission.

The Wild extended their lead in the second period. After a rebound came off the back-boards, Charlie Coyle scored on the power play to make it 2-0 Wild. It was Coyle’s third goal of the playoff series.

Colorado quickly answered with a goal of their own. Ryan O’Reilly’s slap shot got past Darcy Kuemper to cut the Wild lead to 2-1 just 30 seconds after Coyle’s goal.

The Wild finished with a 32-12 advantage in shots on goal.

The win also guarantees that there will be a game 6 on Monday night at Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.
