The Minnesota Department of Corrections reported on Wednesday that authorities were searching for an inmate who’d walked away from a holding facility in Willow River.

Now, the identified 60-year-old Richard James O’Reilly has landed back into custody after Pine County Sheriff’s apprehended him on Wednesday.

According to the corrections department, O’Reilly gave himself up peacefully at around 12 noon and was located inside a Sturgeon Lake residence. Also on the scene were Minnesota State Troopers and a Department of Corrections Fugitive Unit.

O’Reilly had originally walked away from a Challenge Incarceration Program on Tuesday night. The correctional facility can hold up to 180 non-violent offenders.

O’Reilly was at the facility for counterfeiting/fraud.
