Open Enrollment Period Starts Monday For Wisconsin Parents/Students
Starting today, parents in Wisconsin can apply to openly enroll their students in any school district in the state. Wisconsin’s public schools open enrollment application period for next year’s school year runs from now until April 30th.
The open enrollment program in Wisconsin began during the 1998-1999 school year with just 2,464 students attending a public school in another school district.
The Associated Press reports that it’s estimated that the program is now up nearly 20 times from that original enrollment number. The AP notes that more than 48,000 students open enrolled during the 2013-2014 school year.
