Rice Lake Man Accused Of Pointing Gun At Woman
On Wednesday a Rice Lake man was arrested for allegedly pulling a gun on a woman.
WQOW reports that Rice Lake Police Officers were dispatched to a possible domestic incident Wednesday at a residence on the city’s south side. While en route, dispatch advised the responding officers that the male suspect had armed himself with a firearm and was now standing outside the residence on the patio.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect on the patio and he was detained without further incident. WQOW reports that during the course of the investigation, it was discovered that the male suspect was distraught over personal issues. The suspect had apparently requested keys to his vehicle, so he could drive to another location and the female refused to release the keys to him because she said he had been consuming alcohol.
The suspect then allegedly retrieved a handgun and pointed it at the female victim. The woman told officers he threatened to kill her if she did not release the keys to him. The suspect then went into another room, and the woman called 911.
The 34-year-old male suspect, Chad R. Studier, of Rice Lake, was arrested for multiple offenses including possession of a firearm while intoxicated, first degree recklessly endangering safety, intentionally pointing a firearm at another and disorderly conduct.
Studier was transported to the Barron County Jail where he made an initial appearance on Thursday, Jan. 30 for formal charges filed by the Barron County District Attorney’s Office.
