Wolf Hunt Now Over In Minnesota
Minnesota’s wolf season closed more than a month early this year.
The season closed Saturday after hunters killed a total of 237 wolves, a total that was 17 more than the target harvest set by the Minnesota DNR.
The season was to run until Jan. 31, or until the 220-wolf target harvest was reached. Minnesota’s east-central wolf zone was closed Saturday after hunters had registered nine wolves. The target in that zone was 10.
The Star Tribune reports officials are not concerned that the quota was exceeded.
