UPDATE: Packers Rule Out Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) has been formally ruled out for Week 16.
Matt Flynn will pick up his fourth straight start. Coach Mike McCarthy explained after Friday’s practice that the Packers’ organization had a “lot of conversation” about green lighting Rodgers to face the Steelers, but ultimately determined “we are not ready for him to play.”
Rodgers simply has not received medical clearance from Dr. Pat McKenzie. The Packers have stayed alive the past two weeks by pulling out back-to-back one point wins, and now control their own destiny to win the NFC North. Now they need to beat Pittsburgh for Rodgers to have another shot at Week 17.
