No Pine County Tree At MN Governor’s Mansion This Year

Ever wonder why you haven’t heard about this year’s annual Pine City area tree harvest for the front lawn of the Minnesota Governor’s Mansion? Well, it turns out there won’t be one.

Due to construction and restoration projects on the grounds at the Governors residence at 1006 Summit Avenue in St. Paul, no tree was hauled down I-35 this year. Instead, the mansion will have lights on the bushes and the existing trees on the grounds. Cherie Yates, the Residence Assistant at the Minnesota Governor’s Residence confirmed the news, but didn’t say whether the tradition of selecting a tree from Pine County would resume next year.
