Polk County Annimal Neglect Case Reported

The Polk County Sheriff’s Department is investigating allegations of animal neglect at a horse ranch.

The sheriff’s department tells WQOW that four horses were found dead at the Otter Creek Ranch in Milltown. The cause of death is under investigation.

The report states that about 80 horses were housed at Otter Creek. The health and physical condition of some of the horses is at the heart of the case, along with the ranch owner’s ability to provide for the animals. The sheriff’s department reports that the ranch owner is cooperating with authorities.
