A Barron County man arrested late last week, and is now charged with his 9th OWI.

The criminal complaint says John Scrivner, 53, of Rice Lake was arrested last Friday.

WEAU reports a Chippewa County deputy pulled Scrivner over for not having a working headlight. Then, just before the deputy got out of the car, Scrivner took off. A chase ensued that reached speeds of more than 75 miles-per-hour before Scrivner crashed his vehicle in a field and took off running. He was caught shortly thereafter.

Scrivner now faces his 9th OWI, and several other charges.
