National Novel Writing Month Activities Planned At Pine City Library

November is National Novel Writing Month and many area libraries are running special presentations. In Pine City, they’ve announced a schedule that actually begins tonight at 6pm with the NaNoWriMo Kick-Off Party. Those attending can mix and mingle over light refreshments, play writing games and enjoy camaraderie with area writers. Again that’s at 6pm tonight the Pine City Public Library. Then, starting next Thursday there are more events planned including Workshops by Authors Jess Lourey and Julie Kramer and more…

Thursday, November 7 @ 5:30-8:00 pm. Write-In: Looking for a quiet space where you can write? Toil away alongside fellow writers in the library’s community room at our “Write-In Session.”

Saturday, November 9 @ 10 AM-12 Noon. After the Idea: A Writing Workshop by Author Jess Lourey (registration required). This 2 hour presentation is directly primarily at writers in any genre and skill level. Participants will be shown how to go from idea to completed novel in seven steps and receive information on cracking the world of publishing. Class size is limited! Call the library at 320-629-6403 to register. The workshop is for ages 13 and older. This event is funded with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

Thursday, November 14 @ 6:00 pm. Minnesota Author Julie Kramer: Listen as journalist tuned novelist, mystery and thriller writer, visits the Library to talk about her series set in the world of TV news. Books will be available for purchase.

Saturday, November 16 @ 10:00 am-12 Noon. Open Mic Morning: Come share an excerpt from your writing with fellow writers at “Open Mic Morning” or just come to socialize and be inspired!
