MN House Ways & Means Meeting Wednesday To Discuss Special Session (Audio)

The Minnesota GOP and DFL leadership agreed to a one day Special Session for disaster relief, scheduled for Sept. 9. The Legislature will take up only one bill dealing with the damage from June storms. It will appropriate approximately $5.7 million to cover the State’s portion of disaster aid to 20 central and southern Minnesota counties affected by the June storms.

Today the 2013 Disaster Relief Working Group will hold a meeting to discuss the aid package which will be under consideration during the special legislative session Scheduled to take place on September 9.

The joint working group will be comprised of the members of the House Ways and Means Committee and the Senate Finance Committee.

Rep. Lyndon Carlson, chair of the House Ways and Means Committee, commented on the meeting.
