MN’s First West Nile Death Of 2013 Reported
Minnesota has had it’s first reported death from West Nile virus this year.
WDIO reports that so far, 16 human cases of the virus have been confirmed across the state, and citing a report from the Minnesota Department of Health, one of those affected has died.
The victim was a man from greater Minnesota. Additional details have not been released.
Last year there were 70 West Nile cases and one death reported in the state; most of the cases of the mosquito-borne virus were reported in the southwest corner of Minnesota in 2012.
