Isanti Man Dies After Train Collision

In the city’s third such incident of the year, an Isanti man’s life was claimed early Saturday morning after a train collided with the victim near Heritage Boulevard in Isanti.

Isanti County News reports that on Aug.10 at 4:02am, the Isanti Police Department received a call of a train collision involving a pedestrian in the city of Isanti, specifically north of Heritage Boulevard Northwest.

The Isanti Police Department located the victim north of Heritage Boulevard Northwest, but south of Isanti Parkway Northwest, in the area of the Isanti Water Treatment Plant.

The victim, James Donald O’Neil, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the third such accident that the department has responded to this year. It is imperative that pedestrian traffic stay off the railroad tracks.

The Isanti Police Department was assisted by the Isanti Fire Department, Isanti County Sheriff’s Office, Isanti County Safety and Rescue, Cambridge Police Department, Allina Ambulance and Canadian Pacific Railway Police.
