Vikings Open Preseason Friday Night Against Texans On Cool Country

Thursday, August 8th, 2013 at 9:41 am

The NFL preseason really gets going on Thursday night with six games on the slate, but Vikings fans will have to wait until tomorrow night when the team hosts the Houston Texans.

Minnesota won’t be playing their full compliment of guys though, as at the very least several key defenders will be shelved. We know for sure that Jared Allen will be in street clothes as will linebacker Desmond Bishop, who continues to rest his ailing groin. On Wednesday, coach Leslie Frasier said that rookie cornerback Xavier Rhodes will not play, Rhodes has a sore hammy. Safety Harrison Smith and nickleback AJ Jefferson are both question marks.

Catch that Preseason game tomorrow night on 100.9 Cool Country!

It will be interesting to see how third year quarterback Christian Ponder fares. It’s a huge season for Ponder, who has a lot to prove to both fans and coaches.
