Packers WR Nelson Has Surprise Surgery
In a bit of a surprise, Packers WR Jordy Nelson underwent knee surgery Monday and he will be out 4-6 weeks.
Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, doctors still expect Nelson to be back for Week 1.
The surgery was an attempt to correct an old nerve issue that has bothered him since college. Nelson did miss four games last year and was limited in a handful of others, but that wasn’t related. Nelson hasn’t had any known knee problem since 2009.
Randall Cobb, James Jones and Jermichael Finley will all need to step their respective games up as the team lost both Donald Driver and Greg Jennings in the offseason.
