Gibson Gives Up Pair Of Homers, Twins Split Weekend Series With Seattle
The Minnesota Twins split a weekend series with the Mariners in Seattle. After losing Thursday, Minnesota took games Friday and Saturday from Seattle before losing Sunday 6-4.
In Sunday’s tilt, Minnesota took a 2-0 lead in the second inning on a homer by right fielder Chris Colabello. Unfortunately, Kyle Gibson would give up a pair of bombs in the fourth to allow Seattle to take the lead 5-2. Another late inning homer for Seattle, the second such blast on the day by Nick Franklin, sealed the Twins fate.
Gibson lasted five innings and gave up five runs, including those two homers. Minnesota is now 45-57 on the season.
