Willingham Goes On DL

Josh Willingham was placed on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday by the Minnesota Twins after an MRI revealed he has a medial meniscus tear and bone bruise in his left knee.

Willingham scratched just before game time Monday night against the New York Yankees after he experienced more discomfort in a knee that has been bothering him since late April.

The Twins recalled center fielder Aaron Hicks from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester and reinstated him from the disabled list. Hicks went 4-for-21 (.190) and had two RBI with the Red Wings.
