Wisconsin School Voucher Program Going Into Place
In Wisconsin, parents can now apply to use state money to send their kids to private school, if they aren’t happy with a public school.
Governor Scott Walker signed his budget Sunday, expanding the voucher program statewide.
The Associated Press reports the plan calls for $73 million to be used for voucher schools.
Five hundred students statewide can participate the first year and 1,000 students statewide can participate in the second year.
Also, no more than 1% of students in each district can participate.
Plus, public schools will see an increase in spending of $150 dollars per student.
